How to Vienna

Vienna’s subway system, known as the U-Bahn, consists of five lines (U1, U2, U3, U4, and U6) that cover extensive areas of the city and connect to major attractions, train stations, and the airport.

Trains run frequently, usually every 5-10 minutes, and operate from around 5 AM to midnight. Tickets can be purchased at machines or stations and are valid for multiple modes of transport, including trams and buses. The U-Bahn is a convenient and efficient way to navigate Vienna.

To get from Vienna International Airport (VIE) to the city center, you can take the City Airport Train (CAT), which takes about 16 minutes, or use the S-Bahn (suburban train) Line S7, which takes about 25 minutes. Both options provide convenient access to central stations like Wien Mitte.
